Wasting energy when the device is idle.


Idle power or standby power is a well-known problem but is usually underestimated by many people. The worldwide standbypower is 600TWh every year (www.iea.org/etp/networkstandby). This corresponds:


  • Energy for 207.000.000 households (2900kWh per household/year)
  • 180.000.000 tons of C02 (300g C02 per kWh)
  • Energy-companies profit 60.000.000.000€ - 120.000.000.000€(0.1-0.2€ per kWh)



NOT WITH OUR TECHNOLOGY!



The problem is the underestimated standby currents of various household appliances.

EU Regulation 2023/826 allows a maximum standby power of 0.3 watts for household appliances such as cell phone chargers. Why waste so much energy when 0 watts also works?


The first cell phone charger without standby power


Our developed charger does not consume any power in standby mode. The special thing about it is that this technology can also be transferred to other household appliances.


Advantages of our cell phone charger:


  • 0 Watt standby power
  • Energy savings of up to 2.6KWh/year per charger. A small number for the time being, but with mass use it can lead to savings in the range of TWh, which corresponds to several hundred thousand yearly electricity consumption. Especially by optimizing the EU regulation 2023/826, this can lead to significant changes in the cell phone charger market.
  • The special design means that fires can no longer occur in standby mode.
  • The components are protected by the technology in standby mode.
  • Standardized USB-C in Europe since 2025, for standard phonecharger.


From prototype to series production


The functional prototype has proven its function and the next steps are

- Finding investors & cooperationspartners to develop the series prototype 

- Entering into important partnerships to guarantee market readiness and to produce quantities

- Our product could have an impact on the EU regulation to further tighten energy efficiency standards

A discarded cigarette-a great danger


According to the WHO, a discarded cigarette can contaminate up to 40 liters of groundwater, a considerable amount of damage to the environment. Smoking is a well-known addiction and it was a cigarette lying on the ground that led me to this project. After smoking, the cigarette's pollutants remain in it, even the filter is made of cellulose acetate and takes an impressive 15 years to completely decompose. The toxins contained in the filter are released into the environment through rain and moisture, releasing toxic substances such as nicotine and arsenic. The problem is that these can even get into the groundwater.


A stationary collection machine with digital access


Our prototype, initially designed in 3D, recognizes and counts cigarettes that have been thrown in. The machine is to be placed at busy hotspots and uses an app to motivate people to dispose of harmful substances.


How does it work?


  • The machine recognizes and counts every cigarette inserted
  • The cigarettes thrown in are intended to show how the environment has been relieved and a possible points system can be considered. This should also encourage non-smokers to collect cigarettes and dispose of them there.
  • Through the data collection of the APP it is possible to analyze real-time data and take measures or use it for scientific purposes.
  • The device is designed for outdoor use and is weatherproof.


The next steps: From 3D design to series production.


Prototype tests are still necessary to get the machine ready for series production. In particular, an initial test setup must be tested in order to test the system. This is only possible with the company's first turnover and sufficient capacity. As soon as the conditions are met, it is necessary to communicate with various authorities in order to set up this machine. Common standards and certifications are necessary for the finalization of the project.

Our aim is to collect as many cigarette butts as possible and dispose of them properly. This project can be realized with the support of partners and communities. There may even be one near you, in the future

Limited resources and environmental impact


The resources required for rechargeable batteries are limited, as is the use of gas. Lighters that work with gas will sooner or later no longer exist. Conventional rechargeable batteries are not a long-term solution for the environment as they are associated with complex recycling methods and do not rotate 100% in a circular economy. 

However, lighters are an everyday tool, from barbecues, cigarette smoking, candle lighting or camping. A sustainable solution without gas and batteries might work.

Our “lighter” is based on a physical method of generating energy. Without gas, petrol, flint or batteries. With this product, we protect the environment and save resources.

Development status

  • Field tests are necessary, a pilot project should be carried out to test the “lighter” exactly.
